National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2-6! Here are a few ways you can say thank you to your colleagues or show your own kids’ teachers that you appreciate them. Please note that Pamper My Teacher is a supporter of The Cornerstone and the link to that site is sponsored.
1. Flowers and plants are a great addition to any classroom or teachers’ desk.
This blog post shares how to make cute personalized plant pots for teachers.
2. Gift cards with personalized tags are always appreciated.
The free printable gift card tag shown below is the perfect addition to a gift card to the iTunes app store. Or check out this big collection of free printable gift card tags for teacher appreciation.
3. Use the free web tool Pamper My Teacherto express appreciation through words and creative gifts.
The site has electronic questionnaires (with access to specifically selected gifts that coincide with teacher responses on the questionnaires), advertising posters, DIY ideas, charitable giving opportunities, group gift ideas, and more.
4. Get students involved in teacher appreciation activities to show some love to other faculty members.
Teachers in your school who see a variety of classes (media specialists, special education pull-out teachers, teachers of music, art, P.E., etc.) often feel left out during teacher appreciation week as students only bring in gifts and cards for their general education teachers. Why not have your students choose another teacher in the school that has made a difference for them and send over a token of appreciation? I love thefree printable shown below, which also includes a teacher acrostic poem kids can create. Or, check out this free teacher appreciation packet for grades K-4.
5. Deliver a cup of coffee to a co-worker that inspires and supports you.
How cute are the free printable coffee lid labels below? If you’re feeling extra crafty, the post also includes a tutorial on making a crochet coffee cozy.
While I was looking for these ideas, I also came across two other resources that might come in handy if your students bring you gifts: these free thank you cards and these free thank you notes are a wonderful way to acknowledge students’ presents.
You can find even more teacher appreciation ideas on this Pinterest board. Please share your favorite ideas, websites, or resources for teacher appreciation in the comments!
